Right to Read Day is a time to celebrate our wins and take action against book bans!
On April 20, 2026, the American Library Association will release the State of America’s Libraries 2026 Report, which will reveal the latest censorship data and the Top 10 Most Challenged Books of 2025 list. Right to Read Day is an opportunity to share this data and spread the word about the harms of censorship! It’s also a day to celebrate all stories, our libraries, and the library workers that defend the freedom to read!
