At 6:00 p.m. tonight, June 26, a group of people is set to appear at the New Braunfels City Council meeting to perpetuate the falsehood that there are “dirty” books in the New Braunfels Public Library. Area patrons must act to counter censorship in the community!
As has been seen in many other cities around Texas and the rest of the United States, these groups are targeting books primarily by and about the LGBTQ+ community and people of color. We encourage New Braunfels library supporters to speak at the Council meeting or write to city council members to counter the false narrative that there is pornography in public libraries.
New Braunfels Public Library staff do an exceptional job maintaining collections representative of our community’s diversity.
